Two Bucknell Women's Soccer Players Earn School Academic Awards

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Two Bucknell women's soccer players, Ashley Dincher (Winfield, Pa./Selinsgrove), and Lexi Shore (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) earned Bucknell University academic awards for their performances going into the 2003-04 school year.
Dincher was awarded the Charles F. White Memorial Prize for Scholar Athletes, which honors Bucknell athletes for their balanced performance in the classroom and on the field through his or her first two seasons. For the Bison this season, junior midfielder Dincher contributed one goal and three assists while starting all 16 games. A biology major, Dincher is a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as well as the University's Dean's List and was the co-Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2001. She finished 2002-03 with a 3.64 overall grade-point average.
Shore won the Bucknell Prize for Women, an honor given to the student with the top English portfolio as a freshman. The sophomore midfielder is a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and the University's Dean's List. Shore had one goal and one assist while starting all 16 games this season. She finished her freshman year with a 3.33 GPA.
"Having two players receive such prestigious awards at Bucknell is a testament to our team's overall focus and discipline as student-athletes. Ashley and Lexi are good examples of what true student-athletes should be, and I am very proud of them," said Bucknell Head Coach Chrissy Findlay.
Kerry Fitz-Patrick, a sophomore midfielder and defender was also honored earlier this semester by being named to the Academic All-District II University Division second team.
The Bison concluded their 2003 season on Nov. 1 with a 7-6-3 overall record and a 2-3-2 mark in the Patriot League.
