LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell linebacker Dorian Petersen (Rahway, N.J./Rahway) earned his first Patriot League Freshman of the Week citation following the Bison's 45-16 victory over Georgetown in Saturday's season finale.
Petersen, making his second career start, finished with a game-high 11 tackles from his inside linebacker position, leading a solid performance from the Bucknell defense.
Petersen appeared in nine games for the Bison this season and finished with 35 tackles (19 solo). He was the only freshman defensive player to start a game for Bucknell this season. He was the third Bison rookie to win a freshman of the week honor, joining kicker Ryan Korn, who won it twice, and running back Ed Cortez.
Bucknell finished its season in third place in the Patriot League with a 4-3 conference record. The team's 6-6 overall record marked its eighth non-losing campaign in the last nine years.
