Meghan Freese Selected as Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Meghan Freese (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) was selected as the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week after she helped the Bison to important league wins over Navy and American last Friday night. The Bison were picked to win the Patriot League title again this season, but Navy was recognized as Bucknell's closest contender. Bucknell knocked off Navy, 156-144, and American, 220.5-72.5.
Freese won the 50-meter freestyle in 26.79 seconds and the 100-meter freestyle in 58.98 seconds. She also ran the fourth and fastest leg of two 200-meter relay events, the freestyle and the medley, both of which Bucknell won. The Bison won six events in the tri-meet, with Freese having a hand in four. The senior was coming off the Nov. 8 Bucknell Sprint Invitational meet in which she won three of her four individual events and three of the four relays in which she competed, earning her Patriot League Women's Swimmer of the Week status.
Freese and the Bison will swim again on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Army in another Patriot League match.
