Bucknell Men's Soccer Team Earns Academic Award

LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the eighth time in the last nine years, the Bucknell men's soccer team has earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award. The nine-year-old award has consistently grown with only nine schools honored the first year and 335 (men's and women's combined) earning this season's accolades.
The award, which will be presented during the 2004 NSCAA Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 14-18, is based on the academic performance of a team during the previous academic year (both semesters).
To be eligible for the award a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00 for the year, based on a 4.00 scale. Only athletes who appear on a varsity roster during the soccer season are eligible in calculating the grade point average. Al soccer players on the roster must be included in the calculation.
Bucknell ranks second among Division I Men's Soccer Programs and 13th among the 71 men's teams honored with a 3.31 GPA.
