Bucknell Men's and Women's Cross Country Take Fourth in Both Patriot League Championship Races

EASTON, Pa. - The Bucknell cross country teams both finished fourth in their respective Patriot League Championship races held today in Easton, Pa. Greg Costello was Bucknell's top finisher in the men's race while Katie Pfeifer was the fastest Bison in the women's race. Both finished ninth overall in their races.
American won both the men's and the women's Patriot League titles. The Eagles had 26 points in the men's race, followed by Navy (50), Army (79), Bucknell (98), Lehigh (123), Colgate (155), Holy Cross (207), and Lafayette (239).
In the women's race, American had 30 points to Army's 57, Navy's 63, Bucknell's 82, Lehigh's 152, Lafayette's 171, Colgate's 186, and Holy Cross' 200.
In the men's race, Costello's ninth-place time of 25:48.30 was bested only by American's Pat McAdie (25:18.80), Army's Eric Heeley (25:33.60), Navy's Eric Eckstrand (25:41.90), American's Matt Seymour (25:42.50), Army's Phil Sakala (25:43.10), American's Sean Duffy (25:43.70), Phil Gaeta (25:44.80), and Danny Maurer (25:45.40).
Bucknell's other scoring runners on the men's side were Dan Lounsbury (17th, 26:10.30), Wes Reinhardt (19th, 26:12.40), Aaron Hanlon (25th, 26:30.40), and Matt Forys (28th, 26:39.80). Doug Creveling (39th, 26:59.70), Stephen Schaefer (43rd, 27:06.90), Ryan Delaney (45th, 27:11.20), Kevin Walsh (50th, 27:17.20), Sean McCarthy (54th, 27:32.20), Willam Duffy (59th, 27:45.40), and Kevin Brown (71st, 28:26.70) were Bucknell's other male entrants.
On the women's side, American's Keira Carlstrom (20:02.80, Kelley Taylor (20:45.60), Jen Baclawski (21:00.80), Army's Ashley Urick (21:02.20), Navy's Emily Castro (21:06.60), American's Whitney McNees (21:08.60), Army's Ann Lee Cole (21:21.10), and Lehigh's Andrea Luebbe (21:34.90) finished ahead of Pfeifer's ninth-place time of 21:37.10.
Bucknell's other scoring runners on the women's side were Lauren Bricker (15th, 21:47.30), Jamie Gow (16th, 21:47.70), Kayla Halloran (20th, 21:53.90), and Leanna Nastase (22nd, 21:57.10). Bucknell's other entrants were Jennifer Stevens (24th, 22:06.50), Jennifer Marsh (26th, 22:09.80), Alison Cole (27th, 22:11.10), Rachel Tutmaher (36th, 22:24.40), Julie Jakoboski (38th, 22:26.50), Lauren Kinsey (41st, 22;36.50), and Mollie Harms (54th, 23:11.20).
The Bison will race again at the Mid-Atlantic Regional held at Lock Haven University, hosted by Bucknell, on Nov. 15. The men's race will run at 11 a.m., with the women's race following at 12:15 p.m.
