LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Bucknell women's cross country team finished 13th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Lock Haven University this afternoon. Katie Pfeifer paced the Bison, finishing 45th overall with a time of 22:03.
Bucknell's other scoring runners were Kayla Halloran (57th, 22:24), Jennifer Stevens (67th, 22:38), Julie Jakoboski (71st, 22:44), and Lauren Bricker (90th, 23:02). Jennifer Marsh (95th, 23:05) and Jamie Gow (122nd, 23:38) also compete for the Bison.
Georgetown won the team competition, with 56 points. Princeton (78), Villanova (98), Penn State (104), West Virginia (118), Penn (237), American (259), Maryland (273), LaSalle (289), Pittsburgh (293), Navy (302), and Rutgers (329) were the teams ahead of Bucknell's 330-point finish.
While Georgetown and Princeton earned team bids to the NCAA Championship at Waterloo, Iowa, four individuals guaranteed themselves spots at the meet as well. Keira Carlstrom of American, Molly Landreth of Penn State, Megan Metcalfe of West Virginia, and Ioana Parusheva of Villanova earned bids. If any of those athletes' teams gets an at-large bid to the national meet, the next-highest individual finisher whose team did not earn a bid to the national meet will assume the spot.
Treniere Clement of Georgetown was the meet's individual champion, finishing in 20:02. Emily Kroshus of Princeton (20:06), Carlstrom (20:08), Landreth (20:09), Cack Ferrell of Princeton (20:12), Metcalfe (20:19), Parusheva (20:20), Tara Struyk of West Virginia (20:30), Nicole Lee of Georgetown (20:34), and Marina Muncan of Villanova (20:41) rounded out the top 10.
The Bison will close the year by sending runners to the ECAC meet in the Bronx, N.Y. next Saturday.
