Bucknell Field Hockey Gets Another Patriot League Win, 3-1 over Lehigh

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Bucknell field hockey team improved to 3-1 in the Patriot League - and 7-1 overall - with a 3-1 win over Lehigh at Bethlehem, Pa. Kate Ruda had two goals on the afternoon, and Kelly O'Brien had another game-winning goal, her third of the year.
Bucknell opened the scoring 15:35 into the first half with Ruda's first goal, and O'Brien's goal put the Bison ahead 2-0 at 30:38 into the first half. Bucknell took the lead into the halftime break, but the Mountain Hawks cut the advantage in half when Blaire Goodwin scored 10:32 into the second half. Ruda's second goal iced the victory for Bucknell, as she received a pass from Kirsten Nilsen 15:37 into the second half.
Each team totaled 10 shots, while Bison goalie Liz Jordan had 4 saves to two combined for Lehigh goalies Jeanine Hoff and Meghan Gove.
The game was the first of four consecutive road contests for Bucknell, as the Bison will travel to Philadelphia on Tuesday, Oct. 7 for a 4 p.m. contest, followed by a Connecticut trip Oct. 12 and 14 to face Yale and Quinnipiac, respectively.
