Penn State represents Bucknell's most difficult opponent of the year, according to the STX/NFHCA collegiate field hockey poll. The Bison have appeared in the "also receiving votes" section of the poll on three occasions this year, and Patriot League opponents Holy Cross, American, and Lafayette are also mentioned often on voters' ballots.
The Penn State game represents the start of a three-game road swing and the last two weeks of the regular season. On Saturday, the Bison will play their penultimate Patriot League game in 2003 at Fairfield, followed by a game at Towson on Tuesday, Oct. 28, and the final regular season contest of the year at home against Patriot League-leading American on Nov. 1.
