LEWISBURG, Pa. - Fresh off a career-high 17-tackle performance in Bucknell's 14-10 win over Towson, junior inside linebacker Kevin Ransome (Bear, Del./Christiana H.S.) was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Ransome earned the honor for the second time in three weeks as he regained the Patriot League leadership in total tackles with 72 in seven games. He is one of only two PL defenders averaging at least 10 stops per game.
In helping Bucknell overcome a 10-0 first-half deficit against the Tigers on Saturday, Ransome made nine solo hits and also deflected a pass.
The Bison are now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in Patriot League play heading into Saturday's road test at 17th-ranked Colgate (7-0, 2-0).
