Bucknell Cross Country Competes at Pre-NCAA Meet and at Lafayette Invite

Waterloo, Iowa - The Bucknell men's cross country team finished 29th while the women's team finished 31st at the Pre-NCAA Meet at Northern Iowa University, site of the NCAA Championship later this fall.
Wes Reinhardt was Bucknell's top finisher, coming in 117th overall with a time of 25:16. Dan Lounsbury (121st, 25:18), Aaron Hanlon (140th, 25:27), Greg Costello (143rd, 25:27), and Nick Mousetis (149th, 25:30) were Bucknell's other scoring runners, while Sean McCarthy (182nd, 25:55), and Doug Creveling (206th, 26:17) also competed for Bucknell. The Bison scored 670 points.
The top five teams were Colorado (109), Northern Arizona (114), Ohio State (141), Georgetown (201), and Arizona (202). Individually, the top five finishers were Colorado's Dathan Ritzenhein (23:18), Arizona's Robert Cheseret (23:20), Northern Arizona's Travis Laird (23:34) and Henrik Ahnstrom (23:34), and Eastern Michigan's Gavin Thompson (23:35).
Katie Pfeifer was Bucknell's top runner on the women's side, coming in 131st overall with a time of 22:41. Julie Jakoboski (160th, 23:05), Alison Cole (173rd, 23:17), Lauren Bricker (175th, 23:21), and Jennifer Stevens (185th, 23:34) were Bucknell's other scoring runners, while Jamie Gow (199th, 23:55) and Lauren Kinsey (212th, 24:34) also competed for Bucknell. The Bison scored 824 points. Mollie Harms ran in the open race, finishing 77th with a time of 24:09.7.
Stanford won the women's race with 66 points, while North Carolina State (101), Colorado (148), Wake Forest (163), and UCLA (173) rounded out the top five. Individually, Stanford's Alicia Craig (19:53) and Sara Bei (19:53) finished first and second, respectively, while Florida State's Vicky Gill (19:56), West Virginia's Megan Metcalfe (20:11), and Stanford's Arianna Lambie (20:14) rounded out the top five.
Bucknell sent 18 men and 13 women to Lafayette, where the men came in seventh and the women ninth. The fastest Bison on the men's side was Matt Forys (26:54.70), and Kayla Halloran (22:08.76) on the women's side. For the men, Colgate's Xavier DeBoissezon won the race in 25:46.72, while Princeton won the team competition with 39 points. Bucknell had 202 points. For the women, Princeton's Marin Pilar won the race in 20:49.00, while her Tigers completed the men's and women's team standings sweep with 32 points. Bucknell had 209 points.
The Bison will race again at the Patriot League Championships on Nov. 1, also at Lafayette.
