Bucknell Men's Tennis Completes Competition at Patriot League Individual Championships

West Point, N.Y. - Bucknell carried four men's tennis players into day two of singles competition at the Patriot League Individual Championships at Army. Nick Denefrio, Aaron Saperstein, Brian Cohen, and Dave Eckelberger all competed in consolation matches today.
Denefrio lost his semifinal match to Davy Lee of Navy, 7-5, 7-6(4) in flight one, while Saperstein lost to Lehigh's Alfredo Fernandez-Concha, also in a semifinal, 6-1, 6-3 in flight three. The Bison had two players in flight four, including Dave Eckelberger, who fell in his semifinal match to Matt Walton of Navy, 6-2, 6-3. Walton went on to claim the consolation title in flight four by beating Bucknell's Brian Cohen, 6-3, 6-2. Cohen got by Jeremy Fehrs of Lafayette, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in the semifinals.
In doubles competition, Eckelberger and Saperstein received default wins in their consolation quarterfinal and semifinal and beat Michael Cinefra and Brian Schubert of Lafayette, 8-6 in the final.
The Bison will compete again next weekend to wrap up the fall season at the Omni ITA Regional Championship held at Cornell, Friday, Oct. 17 through Sunday, Oct. 19.
