LEWISBURG, Pa. - Three-time defending Patriot League men's lacrosse champion Bucknell has placed two players on Inside Lacrosse magazine's preseason All-America team. Senior attack Dennis Geraghty (Kings Park, N.Y./St. Anthony's H.S.) and senior goalie Justin Sussman (Towson, Md./Friends Academy) both earned honorable mention plaudits.
Geraghty and Sussman were both First Team All-Patriot League selections last season, when Bucknell finished 6-7 overall, 5-1 in Patriot League play, and shared the league title with Hobart and Army. The Bison won the PL crown outright in 2001 and shared it with Hobart in 2000.
Sussman was the 2002 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year after logging an 8.85 goals-against average and a .610 save percentage in 13 starts. Sussman was also a preseason honorable mention All-America prior to last season.
Geraghty has been a first-team all-conference selection in each of the last two seasons. In 2002 he led the team and ranked second in the Patriot League in goals with 34. He scored five or more goals in a game three times, including a career-high-tying six in Bucknell's season-ending 20-10 win over Lehigh.
With 80 career goals, Geraghty is just two shy of breaking into Bucknell's all-time scoring list.
The Bison, who are ranked 24th in the Inside Lacrosse preseason poll, open their 2003 season at North Carolina on Feb. 22.
