Bison Men's Swimming and Diving Sweep Weekly Awards

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's sophomore diver, Adam Freeman (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) has received the Patriot League Men's Diver of the Week award for the fourth time on Tuesday, Jan. 14, while freshman Mark Kretzer (Northport, N.Y./Harborfields) was honored the Male Swimming award for the first time. The Bison men grabbed a 162-136 league win over Lafayette on Saturday.
Freeman received gold in both the diving events during the meet against the Leopards. The sophomore marked 261.87 points in the one-meter dive and 285.14 points in the three-meter competition.
Kretzer marked a solid performance over the Leopards, with four gold medals for the Bison. The rookie swam the opening split of the 200-medley relay with a time of 25.51 to lead Bucknell to a first place finish with a time of 1:38.93. In the 200-butterfly, Kretzer broke the pool record and posted the eighth-fastest time in Bucknell history with a time of 1:55.87. He also received gold medal honors in the 100-butterfly (52.67) and the 200-individual medley (1:59.64).
The men's and women's teams will travel to Colgate on Saturday, Jan. 18 to face their first away Patriot League Meet of the season. The following week, the Bison will host their last Patriot League dual meet against Lehigh.
