Meghann Chipko Wins Athlete Of The Month

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore Meghann Chipko (Lexington, Ky./Paul Laurence Dunbar) has received the August Athlete of the Month Award for soccer from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.

The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, Sept. 5. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of September, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Jennifer Wrigley in volleyball and junior Kate Ruda for field hockey.

Chipko is a second year participant with the Bison and a one-year letter winner. She has started in both Bucknell's games this season.

The soccer team heads into the weekend with a 1-1 record. The Orange and Blue will travel to Marist College on Sunday, Sept. 8 for a 2 p.m. contest.
