LEWISBURG, Pa. - Fresh off a career-high 135-yard receiving day in a win over Cornell, Bucknell junior wide receiver Albert Marquardt (Girardsville, Pa./North Schuylkill H.S.) has been named the Bull Run Inn Bison Athlete of the Week.
Marquardt caught six passes in the 14-3 win over the Big Red, none bigger than a career-long 70-yard touchdown reception late in the second period that gave Bucknell a 14-0 lead. In the fourth quarter, Marquardt turned in a clutch hustle play when he chased down a teammate's fumble 25 yards down field, keeping alive a drive that chewed precious time off the clock.
Marquardt leads the Bison will 11 receptions, 230 receiving yards and two touchdown catches this season. He has caught passes in 14 straight games.
In addition to the Bull Run Inn honor, Marquardt was named the Diversified Information Technologies Player of the Game and the Lewisburg Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Week.
Bucknell is 1-2 after Saturday's victory. The Bison host Delaware State this Saturday at 1 p.m.
