LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior women's lacrosse player Erin Curtis (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) has been named to the 2002 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Associations (IWLCA) Division I Academic All-American team. To be eligible for the squad, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA, be a starter or significant reserve, and be at least in junior.
Curtis makes her first appearance on the academic team after maintaining a 3.37 grade-point-average throughout her four years at Bucknell. A secondary education major, Curtis was a constant on the University's Dean's List, as well as earning a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
A second-team All-Patriot League performer as a sophomore, Curtis has been among the team leaders in ground balls and caused turnovers the past three years. One of the team's top defenders, she closed out her career with 31 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers in 2002, third on the squad in both categories. Curtis tallied once from her defensive post this season, bringing her career goal total to three with one in each of the past three seasons.
The Bison women's lacrosse team finished the year with a 6-9 overall record, and a mark of 1-5 in Patriot League play.
