
Bucknell Women's Water Polo Falls to George Washington, 12-11

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Bucknell women's water polo team entered the Southern Division Championship at Villanova on April 19-21 as the fifth seed. The Bison drew George Washington in the opening game, a team the Orange and Blue have lost to twice this season by a combined total of three goals.
This time was no different as the Bucknell squad fell 12-11 to the Colonials to fall to 10-16 on the season.
The Bison trailed 6-5 after one frame, and found themselves down 8-6 after two periods. Bucknell outscored George Washington, 4-3, in the third period to get it back within one, 11-10, but both squads tallied once in the final frame for the final score of 12-11.
Senior Brooke Rea led the way offensively for the Orange and Blue, scoring three goals, while also grabbing three steals. Sophomore Kelly Hofstetter also chipped in with multiple goals, tallying twice with one assist.
Junior Lindsay Chesterfield recorded 10 saves in the contest.
Bucknell will be in action next on Saturday, April 20, when it faces Grove City in the second round at 1:10 p.m.
