Bucknell Softball Player Named Patriot League Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell softball player Angela Stackhouse has been named the Patriot League's Player of the Week for the week ending April 14. Stackhouse earns the award for the first time this season.
Stackhouse batted .600 this past week, going 9-for-15 from the plate. The catcher was hot offensively against Lafayette, clubbing three home runs and a double in four games. In the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, Stackhouse had her best plate performance of the season, going 4-for-4 with a grand slam, five RBI and two runs scored.
For the week, Stackhouse accumulated 11 RBI, recording at least one in the past four games. She had two or more hits in three of the five games last week, and has reached on an extra-base hit in each of the last four contests. In addition to her offense, Stackhouse was solid defensively, recording only one error in 41 chances for .976 fielding percentage.
For the season, Stackhouse leads the team with a .293 batting average. She is the squad leader with four round-trippers and needs just two more to tie the Bucknell single-season mark. After her 11 RBI week, the sophomore is tied for the team lead with 16 runs batted in on the year.
Bucknell is 10-22 on the year and 4-8 in Patriot League play. The Bison will travel to Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, April 17 for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader with the Mount.
