Bucknell Women's Tennis Drops 4-3 Match at Loyola

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Bucknell women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision at Loyola on Sunday, April 14, falling to 11-9 on the season. The three freshmen in the Bison lineup, Nadezda Curcic, Ashley Diers and Tanya Sichko, were the only winners in the match, scoring BU's three points with victories in singles play.
Curcic and Diers teamed up in doubles action at No. 2 to win over Margot Wallace and Colleen Ruane, 8-4, for Bucknell's only victory in doubles play as the Greyhounds claimed the doubles point.
The Orange and Blue got on the board when Curcic defeated Kaitlin Russo in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. Diers got the match even at 2-2 with a 6-3, 6-1 over Wallace at No. 3 singles, and Sichko finished the Bison scoring with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Ruane at No. 5.
Bucknell is in action next on Wednesday, April 17, when it finishes the regular season with a match at Bloomsburg.
