Bucknell Women's Golf Places Third After Opening Day at James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Senior Hilary Mainka posted an 81 on the opening day of the Lady Dukes Invitational, hosted by James Madison University, and with a score of 338, Bucknell is currently in 12th place out of 17 schools.
Penn State leads all teams with a first-day total of 305.
Mainka is tied for 23rd out of 80 golfers, and is seven strokes back from leaders Sarah Seo of Yale and Katie Futcher of Penn State.
Freshman Jaime Hays turned in Bucknell's second-lowest finish over the opening 18 holes. Hays shot an 83 on the par-72, 6,046-yard course, and is tied for 36th.
Junior Jess Hetrich and freshman Caitlin Sullivan rounded out Bucknell's team scoring. Hetrich recorded an 85, and is tied for 48th. Sullivan is tied for 75th with an 89.
The invitational concludes tomorrow.
