LEWISBURG, Pa. - Winners of three straight games after an 0-4 start, Bucknell's men's lacrosse team has surged back into the nation's Top 20, listing 20th in this week's USILA Coaches' Poll.
It is Bucknell's first appearance in the poll this season, although the Bison have garnered votes every week. The Orange and Blue began the year ranked 19th in the media poll conducted by Inside Lacrosse, but four losses to nationally ranked teams knocked them out of the Top 20.
Since then, the Bison have defeated then-17th-ranked Army (8-5), Mount St. Mary's (5-3) and Holy Cross (14-4) to climb back within a game of .500. Their 12 goals allowed in the last three games marks the team's stingiest three-game stretch since 1970.
Bucknell aims for its fourth straight, and control of the Patriot League title chase, this Saturday at Hobart.
