BU Swimming Completes Day Two of the ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH - The Bucknell University men's and women's swim teams continued to perform well this evening at the ECAC Championships at the University of Pittsburgh.
For the Bison women's team, sophomore Jennifer Cancro and freshman Jamie Flick led the way with one fifth-place finish apiece. Cancro finished fifth in the 200 free with a personal-best time of 1:54.96, good for the second-fastest time in school history. Flick recorded a time of 1:06.05 as she came in fifth in the 100 breast.
Junior Darby Golino also placed among the top eight for Bucknell on day two. Golino finished seventh in the 100 back in a time of 59.07.
In the 400 IM, freshman Jackie Feinthel placed ninth in 4:35.00, while sophomore Daniela Faas came in 14th in the same event in 4:41.30.
Bucknell's women's squad also had two relay team compete in the finals. The 800 free team of Feinthel, Golino, Faas and Cancro finished eighth in 7:51.07, the fourth-fastest time in school history, while the 200 medley team of Golino, Flick, senior Abby Weaver and sophomore Lynne Ashenfelter placed 10th in 1:49.28, sixth all-time at Bucknell.
Sophomore Jack Sheehan turned in a fifth-place showing in the 400 IM in 4:06.30 to pace the BU men's team. Finishing right behind Sheehan in the 400 IM was sophomore Matt Hallowell, who placed sixth in 4:11.36.
Junior Stelios Saffos also competed in the finals for the Bison. He came in seventh in the 100 breast in 58.66.
The championships will conclude tomorrow with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. and finals beginning at 6:30 p.m.
