Bucknell Swimming & Diving Competes at ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH - The Bucknell University women's swimming & diving team completed day one of the ECAC Championships last night at the University of Pittsburgh. The Bison women's team is currently is 17th place with 14 points, while the men's team has not had any athletes participate yet in the three-day meet.
Bucknell's 400 medley relay team of junior Darby Golino, freshman Jamie Flick, freshman Jackie Feinthel and senior Abby Weaver recorded the team's top performance of the day. After placing 15th in the preliminary round, the quartet finished 10th in the final in a time of 3:58.55, the sixth-best time in school history.
The Bison's 200 free relay team of Weaver, sophomore Lynne Ashenfelter, Golino and sophomore Jennifer Cancro also qualified for final competition after taking 11th (1:40.50) in the prelims, but was disqualified in the final.
Feinthel, Weaver and Ashenfelter also participated as individuals in the preliminary rounds. Feinthel placed 17th in the 500 free in 5:09.62, while Weaver came in 20th in the 200 IM in 2:12.51. Ashenfelter finished 33rd in the 200 IM in 2:15.37.
The championships continue today with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. and finals kicking off at 6:30 p.m.
