Bison Men's Tennis Picked to Finish Sixth in Preseason Patriot League Poll

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell tallied 24 points to finish sixth in a preseason poll of Patriot League coaches and sports information directors for the 2002 men's tennis season. Coaches and SID's were not permitted to vote for their own team.
The Bison finished the 2001 season with a 9-7 overall record and a mark of 1-2 in the Patriot League.
American, competing in its inaugural season in the Patriot League, garnered nine first-place votes and was selected to win the annual Patriot League men's tennis championship with 65 points. Close behind was two-time defending champion Army, which received four first-place votes and 63 total points. Navy earned third place with the remaining first-place votes and 54 total points. Colgate (43) was picked to finish fourth, followed by Lafayette (25), Bucknell (24) and Lehigh (20).
Bucknell opens its season on Feb. 16-17 at the College of New Jersey Invitational.
