Bucknell Alum John K. Lyons Inducted Into La Salle Hall of Athletes

LEWISBURG, Pa. - John K. Lyons, a 1975 graduate of Bucknell University, was inducted into the La Salle University Hall of Athletes on Saturday, Feb. 2.
Lyons, a former swimming & diving athlete at Bucknell, coached La Salle's men's and women's swimming teams from 1982 to 1999. He guided the Explorers to 11 conference titles, including eight in the MAAC and three in the MCC. His victory total is the highest of any swimming coach in La Salle history, and he was named as the MAAC Swimming Coach of the Year eight times.
Lyons became the Associate Athletic Director at La Salle in 1999.
Prior to coaching at La Salle, Lyons served as an assistant coach at Bucknell and Penn State.
Lyons was a member of the Bucknell swimming & diving team for four years, and was a team tri-captain as a senior. In high school, he was the sole representative of Lewisburg High School at the District IV and Pennsylvania State Championships all four years.
