LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell freshman Jamie Flick has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of January in swimming & diving.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, Feb. 4. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of January, as selected by their respective coaches, were junior Kate Franks in basketball and senior Stephanie Bango in track & field.
Flick has played an instrumental role in Bucknell's 5-2 record and 4-2 Patriot League mark this season. The rookie has broken the school record in both the 100 breast (1:06.64) and 200 breast (2:25.33). She also established Bucknell's Freas-Rooke Pool records in the same two events, posting times of 1:06.87 in the 100 breast and 2:25.33 in the 200 breast. In addition, Flick has earned a total of eight individual victories in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM.
Bucknell will rest this weekend in preparation for the Patriot League Championships, which will be held at Navy on Feb. 14-16.
