Virginia Shuts Out Bucknell Baseball, 8-0

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Dan Street and Joe Koshansky combined to throw a three-hit shutout, and Virginia completed a three-game sweep against Bucknell with an 8-0 win in non-league baseball action this afternoon at the UVa Baseball Stadium.
Virginia improved to 3-0 with the win while the Bison dropped to 0-3.
Street picked up the win for the Cavaliers and allowed just three Bison to reach base in his five innings pitched. He also fanned nine batters while giving up only one hit.
Bucknell starting pitcher R.J. Grant took the loss for Bucknell. Grant gave up five runs over four innings pitched. Senior Sean Magee surrendered a pair of runs in two innings of relief, while senior Blane Sharpless recorded two strikeouts in one inning of scoreless pitching. Freshman Nick Yaeger threw the final frame and allowed one run in his collegiate debut.
Senior Larry Scheetz, senior Eric Fishman and sophomore Chris Mahony plated one single apiece for the Bison.
Bucknell continues its season next weekend with three games at Georgia Southern.
