Bison Women's Basketball Player Molly Creamer Earns Player of the Week Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Molly Creamer (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham), a member of the Bucknell University women's basketball team, has been tabbed the Patriot League Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, and the fifth time in the last six weeks. Creamer earned the award for the week ending February 10.
Creamer put together two solid all-around games in a 2-0 week for the Bison, averaging 25.5 points per game during the two-game span. As a team, the Bison handed visiting Navy an 83-71 defeat, before picking up an 82-64 victory at Army to end the week.
In the Navy contest, Creamer tallied 32 points for her fifth game this season with 30 or more points. The 5-10 guard shot an impressive 8-of-14 from the field and was a perfect 14-of-14 from the foul line. In addition to her points production, she pulled down seven rebounds, handed out three assists, grabbed three steals and blocked one shot.
Against Army, Creamer started slow, scoring only seven points in the first half, but she ended the contest with a game-high 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. She went 7-of-8 from the free throw line, snapping her consecutive free-throw streak at 26, and is shooting 42-for-44 (.955) in her last five games. In addition to her 19 points, Creamer registered her third points-assists double-double of the season with 11 helpers in the game. She also grabbed four rebounds and swiped four steals.
For the week, Creamer averaged 25.5 points per game, 7.0 assists per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 3.5 steals per game. The floor general shot a sizzling 54.2% from the field and was 95.5% from the free throw line.
She is leading the team and the Patriot League in scoring with 22.3 points per game, and her 25.8 points per game in Patriot League play are also tops. She also leads the conference in assists, both overall (5.61) and in league play (7.30).
The Bison are currently 15-8 overall and tied for first in the conference at 8-2. Bucknell is home to host Patriot League newcomer, American, on Tuesday, February 12. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
