LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell senior Kelly Burrows (Lanoka Harbor, N.J./Lacey Township) has received the October Athlete of the Month for field hockey from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, Nov. 7. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of October, as selected by their respective coaches, were junior twins Breean and Brandi Trapasso in volleyball, senior Nicki Piper for cross country and sophomore Annie Greenspun for women's soccer.
Burrows is a third year participant with the Bison. She has participated in three contests this season for Bucknell.
The Bison begin Patriot League Championship semifinals on Friday, Nov. 8 against Lafayette in Easton, Pa at noon. It is the Bison's first tourney appearance since 2000, when they advanced to the conference championship game for the second straight year.
