COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Bucknell men's soccer team traveled to the University of Maryland for its final regular-season road game of the 2002 season on Wednesday, November 6. The Bison squared off against the 11th-ranked team in the country, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Terps.
The two teams carried a scoreless tie into halftime, despite Maryland's six shot attempts in the period.
The Bison and the Terps played 26 more minutes of 0-0 soccer before a scramble in front of the goal led to an Abe Thompson score. Kenney Bertz earned the assist on the play at 71:42.
That lone score would stand as the Orange and Blue picked up their first loss of the season to a non-conference team, falling to 12-5-1. Maryland improves to 13-3-0.
Bucknell closes out the regular-season with a crucial contest against Patriot League rival Army on Sunday, November 10, in Lewisburg, Pa. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
