Bucknell Men's Soccer Marks 2-0 Shutout Over Navy

LEWISBURG, Pa. - On Sunday, the Bucknell men's soccer team improved its record to 12-4-1 overall and 2-4 in the Patriot League with a 2-0 victory over Navy at West Field.
Chris Beekman scored the first goal of the afternoon 21:58 into the first half. Beekman was assisted by Eric Brunton and Nick Taylor. With 12 career assists, Taylor has tied for 10th on Bucknell's All-Time Top 10 list. The Orange and Blue came out of halftime with the 1-0 lead.
Dennis DeLuca captured the second goal from outside the top of the box during the 73rd minute of the game. DeLuca received a pass from Ori Adrabi.
The Bison have tied the school record for the number of wins in a season with their 12th win of the 2002 campaign. Bucknell has also captured its ninth shutout of the season, which is only one shy of tying the school record in that category.
Adam Edwards played 90 minutes in goal and tallied three saves. The Bison recorded 19 shots against the Midshipmen, while Navy marked fives shots during the duration of the game.
The Bison return to action on Wednesday when they play No. 6 Maryland in College Park, Md. at 7 p.m.
