Bucknell Women's Basketball Takes the Road to St. Bonaventure

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game between St. Bonaventure and the Bison marks the second straight year the two teams have squared off.
Bucknell carries an 0-1 record into the game after dropping an 86-72 decision to #14 Penn State in the Pre-Season WNIT.
St. Bonaventure opens its 2002-03 season with the game against Bucknell.
THE SERIES: Bucknell and St. Bonaventure have met six times in the series history with the Bonnies holding a 5-1 lead.
St. Bonaventure claimed last season's outing in Lewisburg, 72-59, and have actually won the last five games between the two schools.
Bucknell's only win in the series came in the first game. The Bison won a 77-71 battle in 1985.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET: Bucknell held a three point lead at halftime but could not hold off hot handed St. Bonaventure in dropping their third-straight contest, 72-59, to the visiting Bonnies.
Both teams were on fire to start the game with Bucknell opening the game 9-11 from the field and the visitors going 9-10 from the floor through the first 11 minutes. The Bison finished the half 14-24 (.583) and the Bonnies shot .500 (13-26) in the frame.
St. Bonaventure stayed hot in the second half and stifled the Orange and Blue offense to outscore BU, 43-27, in the stanza. The Bonnies hit 65.0% of their shots in the frame, missing only seven times, while Bucknell shot only 38.5% from the field.
