GROVE CITY, Pa. - Senior Daniel Lonnerdal scored five goals and assisted on two to lead the Bucknell men's water polo team past Washington & Jefferson at Inter-regional Competition on Friday, October 18. The Bison also got goals from five other players in the win.
For the fifth consecutive game, the Orange and Blue shut out their opponent in the opening quarter, jumping out to a 5-0 lead after one. Bucknell never outscored the Presidents' by more than two the rest of the way, but the early lead was too much to overcome.
In addition to his seven points, Lonnerdal also recorded two steals. Sophomore James Danforth led the way defensively with six steals to go along with three goals and two assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper Ernest Martin registered a season-high 13 saves in the contest.
Bucknell improves to 7-10 overall with the win. The Bison take on Penn State-Behrend at 8:10 p.m. on Friday evening.
