Bison Grapplers Fall to East Stroudsburg, Drexel

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell wrestling team dropped both ends of a triangular match Saturday afternoon, falling to host East Stroudsburg, 33-12, and Drexel, 31-18.
Against East Stroudsburg, the hosts used two technical falls, a pin and a forfeit to race to a 21-0 lead after four bouts. Brian Neuman, who won twice on Saturday to improve to a team-best 14-7 on the season, got Bucknell on the board with a 5-2 decision over Shawn Smith at 184 pounds.
Andy Herbert picked up a forfeit at 197 and Josh Perrin, the hero of Bucknell's victory over Shippensburg on Friday, scored a 7-2 decision over Joey Camacho at 133.
The Drexel match began similarly, as the Bison found themselves down 22-0 before picking up three straight wins. Neuman was an 8-4 victor over Pat Miller at 184, Brian Falciglia defeated Chris Jones 8-2 at 197, and Herbert picked up another forfeit at heavyweight to make it 22-12 after seven bouts. But the Bison had to forfeit at 125 and Perrin lost his 133-pound tilt to cool the Herd's comeback attempt.
Jen Perrin, the younger sister of Josh Perrin, competed for the second straight day for Bucknell. She lost by fall to East Stroudsburg's Jon Clouser. Friday she became the first female ever to compete for the Bison wrestling team.
Bucknell is now 1-5 and returns to action on Jan. 27 against Maryland in Davis Gym.
