LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell sophomore Savannah Rennels has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of September in soccer.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, Sept. 10. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of September, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Erin Plasteras in field hockey, senior Shannon Walker in volleyball, junior Jess Hetrich in golf and senior Kristin Ferrell in cross country.
Rennels scored all three of the Bison's goals for her first collegiate hat trick in the team's 3-2 non-league win at St. Francis (Pa.) last Wednesday. She has helped the Bison to a 3-0 record, Bucknell's best start since 1997.
The women's soccer team will try to extend its unbeaten streak when it hosts Duquesne University at 4 p.m. on Friday.
