LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell senior Erin Plasteras has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of September in field hockey.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, Sept. 10. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of September, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Shannon Walker in volleyball, senior Kristin Ferrell in cross country, junior Jess Hetrich in golf and sophomore Savannah Rennels in soccer.
Plasteras is a four-year letter winner and a starting defender for the Bison. She has made two defensive saves for the season to helped Bucknell to a 3-2 start.
The field hockey team opens its 2001 Patriot League schedule this Saturday when it hosts the undefeated Holy Cross crusaders at noon.
