Bison Women's Golf Takes Seventh at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bucknell University women's golf team posted a 326 team score on the second day of the Yale Invitational yesterday at the Yale Golf Course, and the Bison finished seventh out of 17 teams for the two-day, 36-hole invitational.
Bucknell's 326-stroke total for the second day tied for the team's fourth-best 18-hole round in school history.
Yale won the team title with 615 strokes. Kristy Finlayson of the University of Hartford was low medallist, shooting a 144.
Junior Jess Hetrich registered a record-setting performance as the Bison's top finisher on the second day. Hetrich recorded a 77 on the par-70, 5,851-yard course, and tied for 24th among 90 competitors with a 160 two-day total. Her 77-stroke mark tied for the top best 18-hole round by an individual in school history. After posting a team-low 79 on the first day, junior Molly Campbell shot an 80 over the final 18 holes. Campbell was the Bison's overall top finisher for the invitational, tying for 21st with a 159.
Rounding out the team scoring for Bucknell on day two were senior Hilary Mainka, who posted an 81 for the second day in a row to finish in a tie for 26th, and freshman Jaime Hays, who finished 42nd after shooting an 88 on the second day of the tournament. Junior Amy Jones also competed, recording an 89 to finish 60th.
After taking a week off, the Bison return to action on Oct. 6 when they travel to the Princeton Invitational.
