LEWISBURG, Pa. - Severe thunderstorms in the Susquehanna Valley have forced the cancellation of Friday's Bucknell-Georgetown field hockey contest. The game will not be made up.

Lightning forced the two teams indoors during warm-ups, and a torrential downpour rendered the grass field unplayable. The game was called at about 6:25 p.m., 25 minutes after the scheduled start time.

Bucknell returns to action Saturday against Siena at 12 p.m. at West Field, while Georgetown hosts Davidson Sunday at 1 p.m. in what will now become the Hoyas' season opener.
