Softball Player Meredith Gill Among National Statistics Leaders

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell softball player Meredith Gill (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) remains ranked nationally in triples per game. The 2001 NCAA Softball statistics leaders report was updated on Sunday, May 13.
Despite Bucknell's season being complete, Gill is currently seventh in the nation in her triple production. She ended the year averaging 0.17 three-baggers each time out. Her eight triples on the season was a team-high and ties a school record for triples in a season. The total is also a career-high for the sophomore shortstop, surpassing the total of one triple that she hit her rookie season.
Bucknell finished the year with an overall record of 19-26-2, matching the highest win total since 1996.
