Melissa Montefusco Picks Up Subway Athlete of the Month Honor for Women's Lacrosse

Lewisburg, Pa. -- Bucknell junior Melissa Montefusco (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of March in Women's Lacrosse.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, April 2. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of March, as selected by their respective coaches, were sophomore Jill Wurzburg for tennis, freshman Maria Garcia for outdoor track & field, senior Steph Morgan for softball, senior Paige Cull for water polo and sophomore Lisa Baranik for crew.
A midfielder, Montefusco has played her role well this season. Montefusco has played in and started all 11 games. While only posting two goals on the season, Montefusco currently leads the team in assists with 14, giving her 16 points this season. She now has 56 points on her career with 19 goals and 37 assists.
The Bison are now 3-8 on the season and will be in action again on April 14th when they host Patriot League foe Villanova at 1:00 p.m.
