Bison Women's Water Polo Team Earns Fifth Place at Southern Division Championships with 3-1 Weekend

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Bucknell women's water polo team continued to build on its school record for wins, picking up a 9-7 win over Slippery Rock at the Southern Division Championships on Saturday, April 7. With the win, Bucknell earned fifth place at the conference championships, being held at Grove City on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7.
In the final contest of the season for BU, senior co-captain Paige Cull (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) led the way with three goals and one steal. Junior Brooke Rea (Canandaigua, N.Y./Los Altos) closed out her 2001 season with a solid performance, scoring two goals, handing out two assists, grabbing five steals and recording three ejections drawn. Also tallying multiple goals for the Bison was senior co-captain Julie McLaughlin (Woodside, Calif./Menlo) with two scores in the contest.
The Bison finish the year with an overall record of 18-13.
