Softball Player Among Nation's Leaders

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell softball player Meredith Gill (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) is ranked nationally in triples per game. The first 2001 NCAA Softball statistics leaders report was released on Sunday, April 8.
Gill is currently 11th in the nation in her triple production, hitting 0.14 three-baggers each time out. Her four triples on the season are tops on the team and second among Patriot League players. The total is also a new career-high for the sophomore shortstop, surpassing the total of one triple that she hit her rookie season.
Bucknell is 11-18-2 overall and 3-5 in Patriot League play. The Bison travel to Holy Cross for Patriot League doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15. Play is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. on both days.
