Several Men's Lacrosse Players Sit With The Nations Best

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Bucknell men's lacrosse team, which is currently ranked 11th in the nation, has several players making noise on the national level. In the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse statistical report, released April 9, Bucknell has three individuals ranked with the nations best.
Sophomore Dennis Geraghty (Kings Park, N.Y./St. Anthony's) has been a solid producer for the Bison offense with 26 goals in the last seven contests. His season total of 32 goals is tied for tenth all-time at Bucknell. Geraghty is currently ranked seventh in the nation at a 3.20 goals per game clip.
Junior Brian Loesch (Baldwin, N.Y./Kellenberg) has continued his solid production in the face-off circle by winning 56.8% of the face-offs he has beem involved in. Loesch was previously ranked 15th in the country in this category but has now moved up to the 13th slot. As a result of winning more than half of Bucknell's face-off's Loesch is averaging 6.30 ground balls per game. This ranks him in the top-20 in the nation for ground balls per game.
Serving as the final line of defense in 2001 has been sophomore goalkeeper Justin Sussman (Towson, Md./Friends School). Sussman recently was named Warrior/Inside Lacrosse National Co-Player of the Week and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after recording 26 saves versus Hobart. His 26 saves against the Statesmen allowed Bucknell to move into first in the conference and is the third best performance by a goalkeeper in the NCAA this year. Sussman's 63.7% save percentage is eighth best in the country while his goals against average of 7.64 puts him in the 11th spot. In the conference rankings, Sussman leads all goalkeepers in these two categories.
The Herd will continue the 2001 ledger with a conference match-up this Saturday, April 14, at 4:00 p.m. versus Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y. Bucknell is 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the Patriot League while the host team Red Raiders are 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the Patriot League.
