LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Kallis (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) was named the Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 8. It is the first honor for the sophomore this season.
Despite suffering two losses in the week, Kallis was strong in goal for the Bison, recording 31 saves while allowing 18 goals in two games. In a non-league loss at Monmouth, Kallis rejected 15 of the Hawks' shots. Kallis then kept BU alive with 16 saves in an overtime loss against league-leading Lafayette.
Through 11 games, Kallis ranks third in the Patriot League in goals allowed per game (9.56) and second in save percentage (.588). Her save percentage also ranks her 11th in the country in that category.
Bucknell is currently 3-8 overall and 0-3 in the Patriot League. The Bison are in action again on Saturday, April 14, when they host league rival Villanova at 1:00 p.m.
