Men's Lacrosse Team Remains Undefeated in Patriot League Play

Lewisburg, Pa. - Freshman Wes Fetchet (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan/Lawrenceville) and sophomore Dennis Geraghty (Kings Park, N.Y./St. Anthony's) each scored four goals for Bucknell in a 12-4 victory for the Bison.
From the very beginning Bucknell's defense was impeccable. Refusing to let down was Bison goalie Justin Sussman (Towson, Md./Friends Academy), who had an impressive 17 saves in the first half, ending the day with a game total of 26 saves. "The difference in the game was our defense. We played with a lot of poise on both ends of the field, and we were very patient on the offensive side, taking time off of the clock and scoring when we needed to score," said head coach Sid Jamieson.
The Bison got started quickly with Fetchet scoring the first two goals of the game, with Kelly Hogue (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning West) scoring the second two goals, giving the Bison a 4-0 lead with seven minutes remaining in the first quarter. Sussman was all over the net, making nine saves without allowing a goal in the first quarter. Hogue and Fetchet both added a quick goal in the second to increase the Bison lead to 6-2 at the half.
Geraghty had three of his four goals in the third quarter, two of which came off assists from Michael Cheng (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park). Cheng finished the day with four assists and one goal. Hogue tallied three goals and one assist on the day. The combination of a stifling defense and a patient offense deemed to be too much for the Statesmen, as Bucknell improved its record to 7-2 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the Patriot League.
