LEWISBURG, PA - Bucknell University placed six swimmers on the 2001 All-Patriot League team. All-League status is awarded based upon individual performances at the Patriot League Championships. The men's and women's teams are each made up of 18 total swimmers, to include the winner of each individual event, and the next highest point scorers who did not win an individual event.
Leading the way for the Bison was junior Chris Neary (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) who earned all-league honors for the second straight season after winning both the 50-free (20.65) and the 100-fly (49.63) at the championships.
Freshman Peter Garvin (Silver Springs, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) qualified for the team based upon the 46 points he earned at the championships. The Bison women did not have an individual event winner, but four ladies qualified for all-league honors based upon their point totals. Freshman Daniela Faas (Ludwigshafen, Germany/Worcester Academy-Mass.), who set a school record in the 500-free with a time of 5:02.71, finished the meet with 49 points. She earned 17 points for her second-place showing in the 500, 16 for a third-place finish in the 400-IM (4:34.67), and 16 for third in the 1650-free (17:27.55).
