Patriot League Names All-Decade Men's Lacrosse Team

Lewisburg, Pa. - This afternoon in celebration of the Patriot League's 10th anniversary, Executive Director Carolyn Femovich announced the League's Men's Lacrosse All-Decade Team. The team is composed of 10 student-athletes and includes Hugh Donavan '96 and John Golaszewski '99.
Hugh Donovan (Ivoryton, Conn./Canterbury School) was a four year starter at defense from 1992-96 and anchored the 1996 Bison defense, which ranked first in the nation with an average of 6.17 goals allowed per game. Donovan was honored as the 1996 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, and won Bucknell's Christy Mathewson Award as the Outstanding Senior Athlete. He was also a 1994 second team, and 1995 and 1996 first team selection in the Patriot League. In 1996, Donovan was named a Division I honorable mention All-American after Bucknell's undefeated season of 12-0. Donovan finished his career with three goals and four assists.
With a nose for the goal, midfielder John Golaszewski (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) is elected to the Patriot League All-Decade team after a fabulous career with the Orange and Blue. Golaszewski was named the Patriot League's Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 1999 after scoring 30 goals and tallying seven assists. He finished his career at Bucknell with 86 career goals, seventh most in the storied history of the program. In both his junior and senior campaigns, Golaszewski was named to the All-Patriot League First Team. He was named a 1999 USILA Men's Lacrosse Scholar All-American after a fine senior season and played in the Division I North/South game.
