Holy Cross Holds Off Bucknell

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Brian Wilson and Tim Szatko scored 12 points each to lead Holy Cross to a 58-49 win over Bucknell in a Patriot League game Saturday.
Wilson and Jave Meade hit crucial baskets as Holy Cross (18-5, 8-1 conference) held off a late Bucknell rally.
Brian Werner and Dan Blankenship each scored 12 points for Bucknell (10-13, 2-7 conference).
Holy Cross, leading 32-27 at halftime, opened a 39-27 advantage as the second half began.
But Bucknell put together a 17-8 run and closed the gap to 50-49 with 4:09 remaining.
Holy Cross missed 10 of 15 free throws down the stretch and 12 of 24 for the game. But the Crusaders' defense held Bucknell to just 27.6 percent shooting in the second half.
Bucknell scored the first seven points of the game and led 15-8 with 10:28 remaining in the first half.
But Wilson and Meade sparked a 22-12 Holy Cross run, and a Wilson's 3-point goal with 2:55 left in the half gave Holy Cross its first lead of the game, 30-27.
Meade came off the bench to score 11 points for Holy Cross, shooting 5 of 5 from the field.
Bucknell played without its leading scorer, Bryan Bailey, who suffered an ankle sprain during pre-game warmups.
