Bison Diving Squads Compete at Drexel

Both Freeman and Petcavage qualified for the finals in both diving events. Freeman placed fourth in the 1-meter (209.00) and seventh in the 3-meter with a score of 342.75, the seventh-best mark in school history for 11 dives. Petcavage came in sixth in the 1-meter (93.25) and established a new school record in the 3-meter (11 dives) with a mark of 345.85. The previous record of 329.4, held by Kathy Karpuk, had stood since 1974.
Other Bison who competed at the invitational included sophomore Monica Smith, freshman Jessica Hansley and freshman Steven Evans. Smith qualified for final competition in the 1-meter and placed eighth with a 42.15 mark. She also took ninth in the 3-meter (226.55).
Hansley used a score of 118 to take ninth in the 1-meter while finishing 10th in the 3-meter (146.45). Evans was 11th in the 1-meter (150.15) and 10th in the 3-meter (227.85).
The Bucknell swimming teams will compete tomorrow at the Princeton Invitational. Both the swimming and diving squads will then travel to the Florida Atlantic University Invitational on Jan. 4.
