LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell senior Lauren Campbell has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of November in field hockey.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, Nov. 5. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of November, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Whitney Williams in volleyball, senior Chris Crowe in cross country and sophomore Abbey Seaboyer in soccer.
Campbell wrapped up an outstanding career for Bucknell last month, finishing second on the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Two of her goals came in a 3-2 win over American University last Saturday in Bucknell's final game of the season. Also one of the team's top defenders, Campbell ranked among the Bucknell leaders with 44 interceptions and led the team with 68 positive tackles. She was named to the All-Patriot League team at the conclusion of the season.
The Bison finished the 2001 season with an 8-9 record and a 3-4 mark in the Patriot League.
